Actually R - since you're right, Jim Crow laws ended then why aren't salons more accomodating to the needs of Afro-American hair? Go to the yellow pages... call 5 hair places listed under salons and ask them if they do ';ethnic hair.'; That should answer your own culturally insensitive question.

Dallas has a significant African American population, and many if not most are quite stylish. If you want a salon that specializes in black hair, should not be hard to find, look in the phone book or talk to people. Find someone in a store whose hair you admire, and ask them where they got it done.
I don't understand your question. JIm Crow laws ended in Texas about 40 years ago. We can all go to the same hair salons now ...
